IKEJA, Lagos — Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Lagos State Special Offences Court adjourned proceedings in the trial of Godwin Emefiele on Wednesday, 8th October 2025, to 9th October 2025, for ruling on the admissibility of key documents tendered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Emefiele is facing a 19-count charge relating to receiving gratification and corrupt demands brought against him by the EFCC. His co-defendant, Henry Omoile, is facing a three-count charge concerning the unlawful acceptance of gifts by agents.
The adjournment allows the court to fully consider the documents submitted by the prosecution, which are critical to establishing evidence in the case. Both defendants and their legal teams are expected to return to court on the new date for the continuation of proceedings.
