Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the recent killings in Akinlalu, urging law enforcement agencies to uphold the rule of law and ensure justice is served.

During a statement issued by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the Governor commended the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for the steps taken so far in addressing the security breach. Adeleke assured that the state government would fully cooperate with the police and other security agencies to unravel the details behind the tragic incident.

Governor Adeleke emphasized that no one is above the law, declaring that any individual or group found culpable, regardless of status or influence, would face the full consequences of their actions. “There are no sacred cows in this matter,” he said, stressing that justice must not only be done but be seen to be done.

The Governor also highlighted the importance of protecting innocent citizens during the investigation. He urged officers to conduct their work fairly, ensuring that those not involved in the killings are safeguarded while the perpetrators are held accountable.

In his statement, Adeleke warned against lawlessness, impunity, and indiscipline, stressing that violations of the law would not be tolerated under his administration. “I will not condone any act of indiscipline or impunity. The law must take its course,” he said.

Furthermore, the Governor called on all security stakeholders, including the Department of State Security (DSS), Amotekun Security Service, and other relevant agencies, to maintain peace and order as the investigation proceeds.

By reinforcing the state’s commitment to accountability and justice, Adeleke’s directive sends a clear message that the government prioritizes the safety of citizens and the strict enforcement of the law. Residents of Akinlalu and surrounding communities have been urged to cooperate with authorities and allow the investigative process to run its course.
