The Chairman of the Northern States Governors' Forum (NSGF) and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for delivering on several key electoral promises made to the region during the 2023 campaign. The Governor made this commendation at a two-day interactive session on government-citizen engagement organized by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (SABMF) at Arewa House in Kaduna.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya lauded President Tinubu for delivering on major projects such as the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Expressway, Kano-Katsina-Maradi rail line, rehabilitation of the Kaduna Refinery, and the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline.
The Governor highlighted the federal government's new infrastructure drives, including inter-state road networks and the ambitious Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway.
He praised federal programmes in these sectors, describing them as evidence of a deliberate policy to uplift the wellbeing of the people.
The NSGF Chairman noted that coordinated operations by the military and intelligence services have resulted in the elimination of several bandit leaders and terrorist commanders across the region.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya acknowledged the pain caused by ongoing economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira, but emphasized their necessity for long-term economic growth.
He called on Northern stakeholders to complement federal efforts through grassroots investments and active civic engagement.
The Governor noted that many infrastructure projects have not touched the North-East subregion, highlighting the need for more federal presence to bridge the development gap.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya reaffirmed the support of the North for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections, stating that the President has earned continued support based on his performance.

The interactive session provided a platform for government officials, security chiefs, and business leaders to assess the progress made by the Tinubu administration and discuss ways to strengthen the partnership between government and citizens.
