The Federal Fire Service (FFS) has formally condemned the unprofessional behavior of one of its personnel as seen in a video currently making rounds on social media. The Service stated unequivocally that the actions captured in the video do not align with the ethos, values, or code of conduct expected of its officers.
In a press release issued on August 4, 2025, the agency described the incident as "regrettable" and stressed its unwavering commitment to professionalism and discipline. It affirmed that appropriate disciplinary measures have already been initiated in accordance with established regulations.
> “The Federal Fire Service is a fully regimented agency built on discipline and operational integrity. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of indiscipline,” the statement read.
The Service also took the opportunity to recognize the significant contributions of the outgoing Controller General, Engr. Jaji O. Abdulganiyu, MIFireE, MNSE, under whose leadership the agency has seen notable progress in both structure and service delivery.
According to the Head of Corporate Services, ACG A.U. Umar, the vast majority of officers across the Service continue to hold the Controller General in the highest regard for his distinguished leadership and service to the nation.
> “We respectfully appeal to the offended party, particularly the Controller General himself, to find it in his heart to forgive and move forward. We remain hopeful for a dignified and honorable retirement, and we emphasize the importance of continued unity within the Service,” the statement concluded.
The Federal Fire Service reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of conduct and professionalism, and assured the public that any breaches of protocol will be handled swiftly and transparently.
