Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has announced the disbursement of ₦492 million in cash and equipment to thousands of entrepreneurs during the Uyo Federal Constituency ARISE Town Square Meeting held today. The initiative is part of his ongoing commitment to empower grassroots businesses and stimulate economic growth across the region.
The beneficiaries, who include a wide range of local entrepreneurs, received various forms of support, including vehicles, mini-buses, essential business tools, and ₦5 million cheques. This direct financial and material aid is designed to provide entrepreneurs with the necessary resources to scale their businesses and contribute to the local economy.
In his speech, Governor Eno emphasized the continued focus on driving development in the Uyo Federal Constituency, highlighting that in just two years, his administration has successfully delivered 116 projects within the constituency. These projects span vital sectors such as road infrastructure, healthcare, education, and tourism.
"We are committed to enhancing the quality of life for our people, and today’s initiative is just one example of how we are creating opportunities for our entrepreneurs," Governor Eno stated. "This is not just about giving handouts; it’s about giving our people the tools and resources they need to succeed and grow their businesses."
A Special Recognition for Akwa Ibom’s Own Police Commissioner
In a symbolic gesture of support for security and leadership within the state, Governor Eno also presented a brand-new Jeep to CP Otu Ita, Akwa Ibom’s own female Police Commissioner. This recognition celebrates her dedication to ensuring the safety and security of Akwa Ibom citizens.

The Governor also expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support shown by the people of Uyo Federal Constituency in his 2027 re-election bid. "Thank you, Uyo Federal Constituency, for your massive support. Your adoption of my 2027 re-election bid means a lot, and together, we will keep building a stronger, more prosperous Akwa Ibom," Governor Eno said, emphasizing that his administration will continue working tirelessly to improve the state for the benefit of all citizens.
