Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has underscored the critical importance of unity among All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Niger State, calling for collective efforts to maintain the party’s stronghold in the region.

Governor Bago made these remarks during an interactive session with representatives from each federal constituency within the Niger East Senatorial District. He stressed that all hands must be on deck as the APC prepares for the upcoming Munya State Assembly by-election scheduled for this Saturday, which he described as a crucial test ahead of the November 2025 council elections.

Highlighting the achievements of his administration across various sectors, the Farmer Governor assured constituents of continued progress and prosperity despite emerging challenges. He particularly commended Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, who represents Niger East Senatorial District, for awarding scholarships to 100 youths to pursue medical-related courses abroad.

Additionally, Governor Bago announced that Senator Musa has contributed 30 foreign scholarship slots to the Niger State government, which will be shared with Niger South and Niger North Senatorial Districts.

Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba urged APC members not to underestimate their opponents but to redouble efforts in working toward a comprehensive victory for the party.

Senator Mohammed Sani Musa described Governor Bago as a “phenomenal leader” whose accomplishments distinguish him among Northern Nigerian governors, calling on all stakeholders to sustain their support to enable further development in the years ahead.

Members of the House of Representatives and State Lawmakers from Niger East praised Governor Bago for fostering relative peace in the senatorial district and pledged continued support for the rapid growth and development of the state.

The meeting also featured remarks from Niger State APC Chairman Aminu Musa Bobi, APC Zone B Chairman Walijoh Danladi Ahijo, and other senior party members. They lauded the Farmer Governor for his unprecedented transformation of the state and cautioned members against engaging in anti-party activities, urging unity to ensure electoral success.

In a unanimous show of confidence, all APC stakeholders from the four federal constituencies of the Niger East Senatorial District — Shiroro/Rafi/Munya, Suleja/Tafa/Gurara, Bosso/Paikoro, and Chanchaga — endorsed Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago as the sole APC candidate for the 2027 general elections.
