On 1st September 2025, the Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, FCISON, paid a courtesy visit to the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, at the Federal Ministry of Health office in Abuja. The meeting formed part of preparations for the upcoming 2025 Annual Population Lecture Series (APLS).
The APLS is an annual platform that brings together government officials, policymakers, and development partners to explore emerging population and development issues in Nigeria. The event seeks to enhance awareness and foster collaborative approaches to address these critical national challenges.
Hon. Kwarra was accompanied by Dr. Osifo Tellson Ojogun, Director-General of the NPC, and Dr. Nnamdi Maduekwe, Director of Population Studies, during the visit.
