The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, will host the 2025 Job Fair on Thursday, 11th September, 2025, at the Blue Roof of Lagos State Television, Ikeja. Themed “Your Career, Your Way: Explore Endless Possibilities,” the Fair is designed to connect thousands of young people with employment and entrepreneurial opportunities, reaffirming the State’s commitment to addressing youth unemployment.

Now established as a flagship platform for youth empowerment, the Job Fair will bring together job seekers, young professionals, aspiring entrepreneurs, and leading employers across multiple sectors of the economy. According to a statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe, the initiative reflects the State Government’s dedication to creating jobs, nurturing talent, and promoting entrepreneurship in alignment with Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda, particularly its focus on Education, Technology, and Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy.

This year’s edition promises a host of impactful activities, including on-the-spot job interviews and recruitment by top organisations, one-on-one career consultations with industry professionals, and a high-level panel session featuring business leaders and thought experts exploring strategies for navigating today’s dynamic job market. Participants will also benefit from interactive workshops on résumé writing, interview coaching, digital product creation, and entrepreneurship, equipping them with practical skills for career advancement.

Reflecting on past successes, Commissioner Ajigbotafe noted that the 2024 Job Fair recorded over 3,000 participants, many of whom secured meaningful employment opportunities. Building on this foundation, the 2025 Fair aims to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity, enhancing digital competencies, career-readiness skills, and access to professional networks for Lagos youth.

The event also underscores Lagos State’s strategy of fostering strong partnerships between government, the private sector, and multinational organisations, consolidating its position as Nigeria’s hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. The Permanent Secretary, Esv. Wasiu Adebayo Olayinka, encouraged job seekers, graduates, and professionals to take full advantage of the opportunity by registering for the event, assuring the public that the Ministry has made thorough preparations to ensure a successful and impactful Job Fair.

The 2025 Job Fair promises not just to open doors to employment but to equip young Lagosians with the tools, networks, and guidance needed to navigate a competitive economy and build sustainable careers, reflecting the State Government’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive economic growth.
