In a bid to empower youths and promote cleaner energy, the Bauchi State Ministry of Power, Science and Technology has presented certificates to 10 graduates who successfully completed mechanical training on converting fuel-powered vehicles to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).

The graduation ceremony, held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Bauchi on Tuesday, was presided over by the Commissioner for Power, Science and Technology, Hon. Modibbo U.A. Ahmed. The training programme, sponsored by the Bauchi State Government, was conducted at the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Ahmed urged the beneficiaries to apply their newly acquired skills effectively, describing them as part of a new generation of skilled professionals contributing to Nigeria’s energy transition. He emphasized the importance of being ambassadors for both the programme and Bauchi State.

Hon. Ahmed further highlighted Governor Bala Mohammed’s commitment to empowering youths through practical skill acquisition, which is designed to boost employment, encourage innovation, and reduce reliance on petrol-powered vehicles.

The CNG conversion initiative is part of Bauchi State’s broader strategy to promote cleaner energy, reduce transportation costs for motorists, and strengthen local technical expertise, in line with national energy diversification policies.
