Governor Sule Joins National Leaders at 31st Nigerian Economic Summit, Calls for Subnational Economic Reforms

The Chairman of the North Central Governors Forum and Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, was among the prominent national leaders and policymakers who attended the 31st Nigerian Economic Summit held at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

The summit, themed “The Reform Imperative: Building a Prosperous and Inclusive Nigeria by 2030,” was officially declared open by Nigeria’s Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The event brought together key figures from government, business, and development sectors to deliberate on strategies for driving Nigeria’s economic transformation.

Governor Sule featured as a panelist in a strategic session titled “One Nigeria, Many Markets – Driving Subnational Competitiveness.” The discussion explored how Nigeria’s states can harness their unique economic strengths through reforms, partnerships, and innovative policies that promote inclusivity and sustainability.

In his contributions, Governor Sule underscored the need for stronger collaboration between the federal and state governments to enhance subnational competitiveness, attract investment, and create jobs. He emphasized that economic growth at the state level was critical to achieving the broader national development goals envisioned in the 2030 economic agenda.

The session also featured the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Honourable Ibrahim Tanko, and Ms. Obianuju Uchenna, who shared insights on policy coordination, infrastructure development, and investment promotion as key tools for building a more integrated national economy.

Governor Sule’s participation reflected his continued commitment to positioning Nasarawa State as a model of innovation and economic growth within the North Central region and Nigeria at large.

The summit reaffirmed the collective resolve of national and subnational leaders to drive reforms that will ensure prosperity, inclusiveness, and resilience in Nigeria’s economic future.
