Abuja — The Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of preparations for the maiden edition of the Nigeria International Airshow, scheduled to hold in Abuja from December 2 to 4, 2025.
Keyamo, who was warmly received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs — his former classmate at the Nigerian Law School, Lagos — was accompanied by a high-powered delegation comprising the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana; the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku; and the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria International Airshow, Mrs. Bria Williams.
The visit focused on fostering inter-ministerial collaboration to ensure the smooth participation of international exhibitors, diplomats, and aviation experts at the landmark event. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured full support in logistics, diplomatic facilitation, and international coordination for visiting delegates.
The upcoming Nigeria International Airshow — the first of its kind in the country — is expected to attract global stakeholders, showcase technological advancements in aviation, and promote Nigeria as a rising hub for air transport and aerospace innovation in Africa.
Officials from both ministries hailed the airshow as a historic milestone that will open new opportunities for investment, tourism, and knowledge exchange within the aviation industry.
In his closing remarks, the Minister of Foreign Affairs commended Keyamo and his team for their proactive efforts, stating:
“This event is not just about aviation; it is about positioning Nigeria as a key player in the global economy. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will ensure that the world feels welcomed and connected through this initiative.”
