In a major breakthrough against human trafficking, the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) has rescued 10 Sokoto indigenes from suspected traffickers during an operation in Badagry. The victims, including nine men and a 12-year-old girl, were intercepted near the Public Health Centre in Ajara while being moved out of the state.
Preliminary investigations revealed that some of the victims were being transported to Ivory Coast, while others were destined for Ghana. Two suspects, Mustapha Muhammed and Issa Ibrahim, were apprehended in connection with the operation.
All victims and the suspects have been transferred to the LNSC headquarters in Oshodi for further investigation.
Dr. Ifalade Oyekan, General Manager of LNSC, emphasized the agency’s commitment to combating human trafficking and other criminal activities across Lagos communities.
This operation highlights ongoing efforts by Lagos authorities to safeguard vulnerable residents and disrupt human trafficking networks operating across the region.
