A deadly collision on U.S. 90A in Fort Bend County, Texas, claimed the lives of three members of a Nigerian family and left several others seriously injured on Sunday morning, March 15, 2026. The crash occurred on the stretch of highway between Harlem Road and Pitts Road at about 9:20 a.m., according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, and remains under active investigation by local authorities.

Deputies reported that the collision involved an eastbound SUV and a westbound pickup truck that crossed the median and struck the SUV head-on. The impact caused the truck to roll over and catch fire, complicating initial rescue efforts.

Three people inside the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims were identified as a 44-year-old woman, Nihinlolawa Agoro, and two of her children, Temiloluwa and Isaac. An 18-year-old woman, also in the SUV, was among those killed.

The SUV was carrying five individuals, including two children — a 14-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy — who survived the crash but were rushed to area hospitals with serious injuries. The driver of the truck, a 20-year-old man, also survived and was transported to a medical facility in critical but stable condition.

Investigators said they are working to determine whether alcohol played a role in the truck driver’s loss of control. Toxicology tests and a full crash reconstruction are underway to establish the contributing factors.

Authorities noted that the family appeared to be on their way to morning church services, based on their attire, at the time of the crash. A relative, Lola Oni, confirmed the tragic incident in a social media post, expressing profound grief and requesting prayers and support for the family.

The crash has affected both the local Nigerian community in Texas and families back in Nigeria, prompting vigils and prayer meetings to honor the lives lost. Friends and community members described Agoro and her children as devoted family members who were deeply involved in their church and community.

Law enforcement officials have appealed to witnesses who may have seen the crash or captured dash-cam footage to assist in the ongoing investigation. Authorities are reviewing vehicle data, skid marks, and debris distribution as part of crash reconstruction to provide a complete account of the events leading to the collision.

While no charges have been announced, prosecutors may consider legal action depending on the results of toxicology and investigative findings. Families of the victims are mourning while receiving support from the community, and authorities continue to work toward a full understanding of the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.
