Nigeria’s largest distance learning institution, the National Open University of Nigeria, has announced that a total of 24,575 students will graduate at its 15th convocation ceremony scheduled for April 18, marking one of the most diverse and inclusive academic milestones in the country’s higher education system.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Olufemi Peters, represented at the pre-convocation media briefing in Abuja by senior university officials, confirmed that the graduating class spans a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Among them are 56 inmates from correctional centres across Nigeria, underscoring the institution’s longstanding commitment to expanding access to education beyond traditional classroom settings.
