The founder of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, has shared an emotional testimony on social media, claiming that he rescued 45 commercial sex workers from a brothel known as Cool Breeze Hotel and that one of them has since become a landlady collecting rent from tenants. In a lengthy post accompanied by photographs, Apostle Chibuzor said he used tithes and offerings from his church to fund a series of interventions that transformed the lives of the women, including providing housing, employment, and educational opportunities for their families.
According to the cleric, the rescue operation involved 45 women, and the testimony was sparked by a picture showing him handing over the keys to a mini estate to one of the rescued women as a wedding gift to her and her husband. He claimed that the couple now collects rent money from tenants living on the property. “They have been collecting rent money from their tenants. From commercial sex workers to landlady collecting rent. ONLY GOD CAN DO THIS,” the apostle wrote.
Apostle Chibuzor also detailed the young woman’s employment history following her rehabilitation and wedding. He said he first employed her to cook for more than 600 students under the OPM university scholarship programme at ESM University in the Republic of Benin. According to his account, OPM runs a free restaurant in Benin Republic that exclusively serves OPM scholarship students, who he said are children from poor homes whose parents cannot afford monthly feeding allowances. “Other students of the university that are not on OPM university scholarship are not allowed to eat there,” he clarified.
When he brought the woman back to Nigeria, Apostle Chibuzor claimed he immediately employed her as a senior minder at the OPM free school for autism and Down syndrome children, a position she reportedly holds to this day. He also claimed to have employed her husband as an ambulance driver at the OPM free specialist hospital, though the husband later broke his leg in a football accident in Aluu and was retired, with a replacement subsequently hired. “One thing about her, she works with all her mind,” the apostle added.
Apostle Chibuzor emphasized that every initiative he described was fully funded through the tithes and offerings of OPM Church members. He listed the countries where OPM scholarship students are studying, including Nigeria, the United States, Canada, Poland, Cyprus, London, Togo, Ghana and Benin Republic. The post, which has since garnered thousands of reactions and shares, has attracted both praise and scepticism. While many followers celebrated the testimony as a demonstration of practical Christianity, others questioned the scale of the claims and the use of church funds for such extensive social programmes.
The OPM founder has previously been in the news for similar charitable interventions, including the construction of free schools, hospitals, and skill acquisition centres across the country. However, this latest testimony adds a highly personal dimension, focusing on the transformation of one individual from a commercial sex worker to a property owner and employee of the church’s welfare apparatus.
As of the time of this report, Apostle Chibuzor had not provided independent verification of the claims, such as the identities of the rescued women or documentation of the estate donation. The Omega Power Ministries has not issued an official statement beyond the cleric’s social media post.
