President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday, June 29, 2026, administered the Oath of Office to eight newly confirmed federal commissioners for the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and the National Population Commission (NPC), in a brief ceremony held at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, shortly before the commencement of the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
The swearing-in, which followed the confirmation of the nominees by the National Assembly, saw two commissioners take their seats on the RMAFC and six others join the NPC. Those inaugurated for the RMAFC are Amina Ibrahim Gamawa, representing Bauchi State, and Abdullahi Mukhtar, representing Kaduna State. Mukhtar is a former Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). Both took their oaths in a single batch and immediately assumed their duties as members of the constitutionally established fiscal commission.
For the National Population Commission, six new commissioners were sworn in. They are Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi representing Ekiti State; Nasiru Mu'azu representing Zamfara State; Dr Isaka Alada Yahaya representing Kwara State; Prof. Sadiq Isah Radda representing Katsina State; Hon. Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo representing Sokoto State; and Suleiman Umar representing Jigawa State. The appointments are designed to fill existing vacancies and strengthen the commission's structure, according to the presidency.
The ceremony was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Didi Esther Walson-Jack, and members of the President's cabinet. Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani and family members of the newly sworn-in commissioners were also present.
Following the inauguration, President Tinubu presided over the FEC meeting, the first in over two months, where ministers considered memoranda on key government policies and programmes.
