Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command, through the State Criminal Investigation Department at Panti, have dismantled a criminal syndicate involved in conspiracy, obtaining goods under false pretence, fraudulent conversion, stealing, and the issuance of dud cheques, recovering eight exotic vehicles worth millions of naira in a major breakthrough against vehicle fraud in the state. The operation, carried out on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, followed investigations into three separate cases that revealed a coordinated syndicate fraudulently obtaining exotic vehicles from dealers using false representations and dud or post-dated cheques before disposing of the vehicles for personal gain. The recovered vehicles, which represent a fraction of the total assets fraudulently obtained by the syndicate, have been secured as exhibits pending the conclusion of investigations and subsequent prosecution of the suspects.
