The Nigeria Customs Service has officially released the final list of successful candidates for its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise into the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Customs II, marking the conclusion of a rigorous selection process that began in late 2024. The announcement was made on Monday, July 27, 2026, through a statement signed by the Service's National Public Relations Officer, Deputy Comptroller of Customs Abdullahi Maiwada, on behalf of the Comptroller-General of Customs.
The recruitment exercise, which officially commenced on December 27, 2024, was designed to fill 3,927 vacancies across the Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Customs Assistant cadres. The online application window closed in January 2025, and the Service later opened its portal in May 2026 for shortlisted candidates to complete a final screening update, with a deadline of May 10, 2026. The NCS adopted an information technology-driven shortlisting and selection process to improve transparency and ensure that eligibility requirements, including age and academic qualifications, were automatically verified. Shortlisted candidates subsequently sat for a nationwide Computer-Based Test conducted between September 14 and 21, 2025.
According to the statement, successful candidates can now verify their status through the official NCS website or by checking selected national newspapers. They will also receive notifications through their registered email addresses and SMS, containing detailed instructions for the next phase of the recruitment process.
The Service has outlined a strict timeline for the next steps. Successful candidates are required to log on to the recruitment portal using their National Identification Number or registered email address to upload a valid Medical Certificate of Fitness obtained from a government-recognised hospital. The portal link for the upload of Medical Certificates of Fitness will be activated on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, and candidates have one week from the date of activation to complete the upload process. Candidates are also required to accurately update their current state of residence on the portal and formally accept the provisional offer of appointment by clicking the "Accept Offer" button.
Upon completion of these steps, successful candidates will receive their Trainee Identification Number within one week. Further details regarding documentation and physical screening, including dates, venues, and requirements, will be communicated through official channels. The Service has warned that failure to comply with any of the outlined requirements or timelines may result in disqualification from the recruitment process and forfeiture of the provisional offer of appointment.
On behalf of the Nigeria Customs Service Board, the Comptroller-General of Customs congratulated all successful candidates on their success and expressed optimism about welcoming them into the NCS as they begin careers dedicated to professionalism, integrity, and service to the nation.
