Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, has accused Elder Leke Abejide, a member of the House of Representatives representing Yagba Federal Constituency, of colluding with his political opponents to spread false allegations against him. The senator made the accusation on Sunday, August 2, 2026, during a visit to the Agbana of Isanlu, where he addressed concerns surrounding allegations of disrespect towards traditional rulers and his alleged involvement in the arrest of some chiefs in Egbe. Karimi denied any role in the arrest of the chiefs, insisting that he has respect for traditional institutions across Yagba land.
