The first major twist of Big Brother Naija Season 11 has been unveiled, with housemates Aikou and Flora emerging as the show's inaugural "Gambits" during the Sunday night live eviction show on August 2, 2026. Host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announced the results of the public vote, confirming that Flora secured the female Gambit position with 29.18 per cent of the votes, while Aikou clinched the male spot with 9.10 per cent, with Ricky and Abi trailing behind. The selection grants both housemates immunity from eviction and a guaranteed place in the grand finale, but at a significant cost—they are now ineligible to compete for the season's record-breaking ₦160 million grand prize.
The Gambit twist, introduced earlier in the week, was described by Big Brother as a strategic trade-off between longevity in the house and the opportunity to win the grand prize. Viewers were tasked with voting for one male and one female housemate to assume the special role, with Head of House Chimsom Chuka excluded from the voting process. As Gambits, Aikou and Flora will now function as Biggie's agents, carrying out secret tasks and shaping events behind the scenes while the remaining contestants continue their quest for the ₦160 million prize. Despite losing their chance at the cash prize, the pair will continue to participate in all house activities, including weekly tasks and sponsored challenges.
The announcement also came with an unexpected twist: there was no eviction during the first live show, meaning all 24 housemates who entered the house on July 26 will remain for another week. Housemates had spent the week nominating each other under the impression they were selecting people for possible eviction, only for Biggie to reveal that the nominations would not result in any evictions at all.
Flora Egbedi, a makeup entrepreneur from Delta State, is known for her confidence and bold personality, describing her love life as "complicated" and promising to keep fellow housemates on their toes with her honesty. Aikou, a 25-year-old freelance teacher and web developer from Abuja, describes himself as calm, outspoken, and independent, with little tolerance for dishonesty. Big Brother Naija Season 11, themed "Show Ya Sef," premiered on July 26 with 24 housemates competing for the biggest prize in the show's history. The Gambit twist adds a strategic dimension to the season, with Flora and Aikou expected to execute Biggie's directives while the remaining contestants continue their quest for the grand prize.
