The arrest, which was disclosed by counter‑insurgency and security expert Zagazola Makama in a post on X on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, forms part of ongoing efforts by security forces to identify and disrupt terrorist support networks operating within communities in the North‑East. According to a military source, the operation was conducted in the Girpata and Wurobululude areas of Mubi South, with the troops successfully taking Adamu into custody for further investigation to establish his alleged links and activities with terrorist elements.

In a separate but related operation on August 6, 2026, troops of the same battalion arrested two other suspected associates of terrorists, including an alleged logistics vendor, Alhaji Adamu Abba, 39, and his associate Abdulhamid Shamsudeen, 31, at Wurobululde in Mubi South. During preliminary interrogation, Abba allegedly disclosed that he had worked with terrorists for about 10 years at a terrorist camp in Ndawori, Borno State, before relocating to Mubi. Items recovered from the two suspects included mobile phones, power banks, a motorcycle, and cash totalling over ₦227,000 and 262,500 CFA francs.
