What began on July 26, 2026, as a gathering of 24 strangers chasing a record-breaking N160 million grand prize has, after 70 days, produced friendships, romances, betrayals, arguments, punishments, disqualifications and some of the most unpredictable twists in the history of Big Brother Naija. Tonight, Sunday, October 4, 2026, nine finalists will walk onto the finale stage, hoping to become the winner of the “Show Ya Sef” season, the 11th edition of Africa’s most-watched reality television franchise.

The finalists are Aikou, Barry, Bluethopia, Flora, Oyin, Ricky, Sheba, Temi Nkem and Tram. They emerged from a season that began with 24 housemates and was shaped by Biggie’s relentless introduction of twists designed to disrupt alliances, unsettle strategies and force even the most confident competitors to rethink their approach. The first evictions of the season set the tone: Mercedes and Martins left early, signalling that an initial fan base would not guarantee longevity. As the weeks progressed, the field narrowed through a combination of public votes, Head of House competitions, secret missions and face-to-face nominations that turned friends into rivals.

No development captured the season’s capacity for surprise more than “The Gambit.” In early August, viewers were asked to select one male and one female housemate as Gambits. Aikou and Flora emerged as the chosen pair, securing automatic places in the finale but forfeiting their eligibility for the N160 million grand prize. The twist was unprecedented: two housemates guaranteed a place in the final week while knowing they could not win the ultimate prize. In late August, Biggie introduced “Operation Release the Gambit,” allowing viewers to vote on whether Aikou and Flora should be reinstated as full housemates and regain eligibility for the grand prize. They were subsequently restored, and both entered the finale with a measure of public support that had been demonstrated even before their eligibility was confirmed.

The season’s disciplinary record was equally dramatic. Nomy became the first housemate to be disqualified, not for violence, but for repeated defiance of Big Brother’s instructions. She had previously received a strike and a final warning, but another violation involving an assigned punishment outfit ended her journey. Big Brother revoked her privilege to participate in the competition and gave her 30 minutes to pack her belongings and leave the house. Her disqualification reinforced one of Biggie’s oldest rules: no housemate, regardless of popularity or standing in the game, was above the rules. Nomy’s exit was the first of two disqualifications that would define the season’s final weeks.

The second was Keivo. On the night of September 28, a disagreement between Keivo and Tram over a black shirt escalated into a physical confrontation. Tram accused Keivo of taking his shirt; Keivo denied it, insisting he owned a similar one, and expressed deep frustration at being called a thief. The argument intensified, and Keivo reportedly threw the first punch. Other housemates intervened, and Biggie ordered all housemates to freeze before deploying ninjas to restore order. On September 29, Biggie summoned the remaining housemates to the lounge, showed them footage of the altercation, identified Keivo as the perpetrator and announced his disqualification. “Violence is never an option,” Biggie declared. Keivo was escorted out through the storeroom, his dream of the N160 million prize extinguished days before the finale. He later issued a statement taking full responsibility for his actions. His removal reduced the finalists from ten to nine.

The finale week itself was not without drama. In a twist that left even the finalists stunned, Biggie revealed that Barry, the winner of the Ultimate Veto Power in Week Eight, had been given a choice: grant immunity to all remaining housemates or leave them vulnerable to eviction. Barry chose “Immunity For All,” securing places in the finale for all ten remaining housemates. To heighten the suspense, Biggie staged a fake eviction, sending Ricky, Tram and Temi Nkem out of the house before revealing that the eviction was part of the twist and that they remained in the competition. The fake eviction served as a reminder that in Biggie’s house, nothing was ever quite what it seemed.

The prize itself is the largest in the show’s history. The N160 million package comprises N100 million in cash and a brand-new SUV valued at N60 million, along with additional sponsored prizes. The winner will also join the ranks of past BBNaija champions, a list that includes some of Nigeria’s most recognisable entertainment personalities. Voting lines opened after the finalists were confirmed, with fans across Nigeria and the diaspora casting ballots for their preferred housemates.

Tonight’s finale will feature performances from Nigerian music stars Teni and Oshamo, with the live show scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. West Africa Time on Africa Magic channels and streaming platforms. The finale will see housemates evicted one after another as the show progresses, until only the winner remains. The finalists spent their last day in the house in a mixture of anticipation and reflection. In their final diary sessions, Oyin put her chances of winning at 99 per cent based on her faith and 90 per cent based on what she observed in the house, while also acknowledging the strength of her fellow finalists. Ricky said he hoped the winner would be someone who truly deserved it, adding that tonight would not just be about evictions but about something bigger. Sheba admitted she was nervous about what comes next. Barry packed his suitcase while singing along to music. Flora danced. Aikou did sit-ups. Tram worked out in the garden.

For 70 days, the “Show Ya Sef” season delivered the kind of unpredictable television that has made Big Brother Naija a fixture of Nigerian popular culture. It produced romance, notably the relationship between Yusuf and Bells, which attracted attention before both housemates left the competition. It produced strategic battles, with Abi emerging as one of the stronger competitors by winning the Head of House title twice. It produced controversy, from Nomy’s repeated defiance to Keivo’s violent outburst to the fake eviction that fooled viewers and housemates alike. And it produced a finale that, regardless of who wins, will be remembered as one of the most dramatic in the show’s history. Tonight, one housemate will walk away with N160 million and the title of BBNaija Season 11 winner. The other eight will leave with the memories of a journey that began with 24 strangers and ended with nine, each of them changed by the experience.
