Temitope Chigbue, popularly known as Temi Nkem, has been crowned the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 11, tagged “Show Ya Sef,” claiming the record-breaking N160 million grand prize after 70 days of competition that began with 24 housemates and ended with nine finalists on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
The 21-year-old London-born housemate defeated Aikou and Sheba, who emerged as the final two runners-up after a night of successive evictions at the grand finale. The prize package comprises N100 million in cash and a brand-new SUV valued at N60 million, making it the largest payout in the history of the reality television franchise. The finale, which began at 7 p.m. West Africa Time, featured performances from Afrobeats stars Teni and Oshamo and was broadcast live on Africa Magic Showcase, Africa Magic Family and DStv Stream.
Temi Nkem’s victory capped a remarkable journey defined by unpredictability, emotional intensity and a resilient fan base. In late September, she was among three housemates, alongside Tram and Ricky, who were fake-evicted during a live show as part of one of Biggie’s twists. The trio subsequently returned to the house, and all three secured places in the finale. In the week before the final, she acknowledged the strength of her fellow finalists, saying in her diary session that she put her chances of winning at 99 per cent based on her faith and 90 per cent based on what she observed in the house. She also confessed to a moment of vulnerability, telling Biggie, “It hurts me now because I don’t think I will win again,” a statement that proved premature. Her signature catchphrase, “Chakam,” became a recurring theme of her time in the house, and her energetic, performance-driven personality made her one of the season’s most discussed housemates.
The finale night was marked by a series of evictions that narrowed the field from nine to one. Barry, Oyin, Ricky, Flora, Tram and Bluethopia were evicted in succession, leaving Aikou, Sheba and Temi Nkem as the final three. Bluethopia’s exit, announced earlier in the evening, made her the sixth housemate to leave the show that night after spending 69 days in the house. The competition then came down to the final three, and the public vote ultimately decided that Temi Nkem would claim the crown.
The “Show Ya Sef” season, which premiered on July 26, 2026, was characterised by twists that repeatedly disrupted the housemates’ strategies. The most significant was “The Gambit,” a twist in which viewers selected one male and one female housemate to secure automatic places in the finale while forfeiting eligibility for the grand prize. Aikou and Flora were initially chosen, but a subsequent twist, “Operation Release the Gambit,” allowed viewers to reinstate them as full housemates with eligibility restored. The season also saw two disqualifications: Nomy was disqualified for repeatedly defying Big Brother’s instructions, and Keivo was disqualified on September 29 after a physical altercation with Tram over a black shirt. Biggie announced Keivo’s removal after showing housemates footage of the fight, declaring, “Violence is never an option.” Keivo later issued a statement taking full responsibility for his actions.
The season produced its share of romances and alliances, notably the relationship between Yusuf and Bells, which attracted attention before both housemates left the competition. Abi emerged as one of the stronger competitors by winning the Head of House title twice. Barry won the Ultimate Veto Power in Week Eight and chose to grant immunity to all remaining housemates, securing all ten finalists a place in the finale before the fake eviction twist added another layer of suspense. The final week itself was marked by the fake eviction of Ricky, Tram and Temi Nkem, a move designed to keep viewers guessing until the final moments.
For Temi Nkem, the victory represents the culmination of a journey that began as one of 24 strangers entering Biggie’s house in July. Her path to the crown was marked by moments of doubt, strategic setbacks and the emotional weight of a competition that demanded resilience as much as popularity. Her emergence as the winner reflects the enduring appeal of a housemate who combined vulnerability with determination, and whose “Chakam” mantra became a symbol of her refusal to be defined by the obstacles she faced. As the confetti fell and the N160 million prize was confirmed, Temi Nkem joined the ranks of past BBNaija champions, her name written into the history of Africa’s biggest reality television show.
