Big Brother Naija Season 11 winner Temi Nkem has officially received the ₦90 million cash prize and brand-new Hyundai SUV that formed the major components of her ₦160 million grand prize package, taking delivery of the rewards on Tuesday at the Multichoice studio in Lagos, two days after she was crowned winner of the “Show Ya Sef” edition of the reality television show.
The 21-year-old reality star, whose real name is Temitope Chigbue, arrived at the prize presentation in a navy blue gown, accompanied by her mother and several of her fellow Season 11 housemates, including Aikou, Tram, Bluethopia, Araga, Oyin, Chimsom, Bells and Yusuf. The new Hyundai SUV was displayed at the venue against a branded backdrop featuring Big Brother Naija, MultiChoice, DStv, GOtv and betPawa branding, and was formally presented to her by representatives of the show’s sponsors. The cash component of the prize was presented as a ₦90 million cheque, completing the physical presentation of the major components of the Season 11 grand prize.
Temi, who appeared visibly excited during the presentation, expressed gratitude to God, her family and her supporters, particularly members of her fanbase known as the “Teminators”. She revealed that she already has plans to invest her cash prize and thanked viewers who voted for her during the 70-day competition. “I didn’t come in here to be the winner, but I am happy to win. Thank you guys. I’m just 21; I need to invest in my future,” she said. “So, I’m going to be investing the money. I also need to go back to school”. After receiving the cash prize and car key, she sang the popular “Winner, winner…” song and posed for photographs with the vehicle and the keys.
Temi emerged victorious at the grand finale on Sunday, October 4, 2026, after polling 25.87 per cent of the final votes. She defeated Aikou, who finished as the first runner-up with 23.68 per cent, while Sheba emerged as the second runner-up with 9.80 per cent. Temi’s winning margin over Aikou was 2.19 percentage points. The victory made her the fifth female winner in the history of Big Brother Naija, following Mercy Eke, Phyna, Ilebaye and Imisi. The cash component of the prize was reduced from the original ₦100 million after ₦10 million was allocated to the season’s Most Influential Player of the Week prize fund.
The official prize package was valued at ₦160 million and included the ₦90 million cash prize, the new Hyundai SUV and additional sponsored prizes. The finale brought an end to 10 weeks of competition involving 24 housemates and a season marked by evictions, alliances, confrontations, romance, twists and several memorable moments. Temi’s journey included a fake eviction, BB Bucks drama, relationships with fellow housemates and a series of diary-room moments that helped establish her as one of the season’s most prominent personalities. Her outspoken and unpredictable personality kept her at the centre of conversations throughout the competition, while her ability to survive repeated periods of nomination eventually took her to the finale. The finale, which began with nine finalists, saw housemates evicted one after another before Temi Nkem, Aikou and Sheba advanced to the final stage. The show also featured performances from Nigerian singers Teni and Oshamo.
The Season 11 edition premiered on July 26, 2026, with 24 housemates competing for the grand prize. Temi, who was born and raised in London, England, was among the housemates introduced at the beginning of the season. Before entering the house, she described herself as “very egotistical and arrogant”, adding that she owned it and did not shrink herself for anyone. She listed golfing, eating and walking among her hobbies, while identifying listening and giving advice as her hidden talents.
The prize presentation marks the formal conclusion of the Season 11 cycle and the beginning of Temi’s life as a public figure beyond the Big Brother house. Her victory has been celebrated across social media, with fans and celebrities describing her win as well-deserved. For the show’s producers, the season delivered the kind of unpredictable television that has made Big Brother Naija a fixture of Nigerian popular culture, producing romance, strategic battles, controversy and a finale that kept viewers guessing until the final moments. The N160 million grand prize is the largest in the show’s history, and Temi’s emergence as the winner places her among a select group of housemates who have turned their Big Brother Naija experience into a platform for their careers and personal brands. As she put it, she is just 21 and needs to invest in her future. The coming months will determine how she deploys the resources she has won and whether her time in the house becomes the foundation for a career beyond reality television.
