The Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu, has inaugurated a recruitment committee tasked with overseeing a new round of employment into the state’s civil service, assuring citizens that the process will be fair, transparent, and inclusive.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the Sokoto Government House, was presided over by the Governor alongside the committee chairman, Alhaji Jelani Kalgo.

Governor Aliyu stressed that the recruitment exercise would be strictly merit-based and open to all qualified applicants, irrespective of their background or status. He affirmed that candidates with NCE certificates, HND qualifications, and university degrees would all be considered on equal footing.

“There will be no discrimination in this recruitment process. Every qualified person will be given the opportunity to serve. This government is committed to fairness and inclusivity, ensuring that the best hands are brought into our workforce,” the Governor said.

The Governor explained that the exercise is part of his administration’s broader agenda to create job opportunities for youths, strengthen the state’s workforce, and enhance service delivery across ministries and agencies. He noted that unemployment has remained a challenge in many states, and assured residents that Sokoto is taking decisive steps to address it.

Governor Aliyu further emphasized that the initiative aligns with his administration’s vision of promoting good governance, accountability, and social equity, while also providing a platform for qualified youths to contribute meaningfully to the state’s growth and development.

The newly inaugurated committee, led by Alhaji Jelani Kalgo, is expected to ensure a seamless process guided by transparency and efficiency. Citizens are urged to cooperate with the committee and to shun any attempt to influence the recruitment through corrupt practices.

With this move, Sokoto State joins a growing number of states taking active measures to empower their youth, strengthen institutions, and ensure inclusivity in governance, signaling what many see as a new chapter of opportunities for qualified citizens across the state.
