The Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) has reaffirmed its commitment to improving access to reliable and sustainable electricity across Nigeria, stating that stable power supply remains essential for economic growth, industrial expansion, and national development.
NDPHC Managing Director, Engr. Jennifer Adighije, made the statement on Monday, June 22, 2026, in a goodwill message issued by the company, where she highlighted the importance of dependable electricity in supporting businesses, communities, and citizens across the country.
Adighije said reliable electricity goes beyond being a basic service, describing power supply as a major factor that enables productivity, strengthens businesses, and supports economic participation.
She explained that consistent electricity remains important for industries and commercial activities because businesses require stable energy to operate efficiently, reduce interruptions, and expand their operations.
“At NDPHC, we remain committed to delivering reliable electricity that drives industries, empowers communities, and fuels national progress,” Adighije said.
The NDPHC chief executive noted that improving electricity access is central to supporting Nigeria’s development objectives and reducing challenges faced by businesses affected by unstable power supply.
She highlighted the company’s Eligible Customer Programme (ECP) as one of the initiatives designed to provide improved electricity access to qualified large-scale industrial and commercial consumers.
According to Adighije, the programme allows eligible customers to receive electricity through direct arrangements, helping businesses achieve more predictable power supply for their operations.
She said the initiative is aimed at helping companies reduce disruptions caused by electricity challenges and improve their ability to increase productivity.
Adighije explained that stronger electricity supply can support manufacturing activities, commercial expansion, job creation, and improved economic opportunities across different sectors.
She added that a more reliable power sector requires cooperation between government institutions, private-sector participants, and other stakeholders involved in energy development.
The NDPHC managing director stated that the company remains focused on strategic investments and interventions aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s electricity infrastructure.
She further noted that initiatives supporting energy stability are important for improving business confidence and encouraging investment in different parts of the country.
The company also highlighted its Light Up Nigeria Project as another effort aimed at improving electricity availability for productive users and supporting industrial development.
NDPHC stated that businesses benefiting from improved power access can experience greater efficiency, reduced operational challenges, and better opportunities for expansion.
The company maintained that continued improvement in electricity supply would contribute to stronger industries, better economic activities, and improved quality of life for Nigerians.
