As part of his administration’s continued push for infrastructure development and economic revitalization, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Tuesday undertook inspection visits to two major ongoing projects: the Udu Harbour Market and the Enerhen Junction Flyover Bridge.
The Governor’s visit was aimed at evaluating the pace and quality of work to ensure both projects remain consistent with the state’s long-term development priorities under the MORE Agenda — a strategic framework that emphasizes Meaningful development, Opportunities for all, Realistic reforms, and Enhanced peace and security.
The Udu Harbour Market redevelopment is a multi-billion Naira investment expected to significantly boost local commerce. The project includes the construction of 604 lock-up shops, 126 open stalls, a modern abattoir, and other critical amenities to support small and medium-scale enterprises. The facility is poised to enhance trading conditions and stimulate economic activity across the region.
At the Enerhen Junction, Governor Oborevwori assessed progress on the construction of a major flyover bridge. The project is designed to ease persistent traffic congestion in Warri and its environs while improving connectivity and urban mobility.
Speaking during the inspection, the Governor reiterated the centrality of both projects to his administration’s infrastructure and job creation agenda. He assured residents that the government remains committed to delivering high-quality projects that address local needs and contribute meaningfully to the state’s economic transformation.
“These projects are integral to our vision for a more connected, economically vibrant Delta State,” the Governor said. “We are not only building physical infrastructure but laying the foundation for sustainable growth and opportunity.”
Both projects are expected to be delivered within schedule and are among several initiatives being executed to reinforce the state’s infrastructure base and enhance the living standards of its citizens.
