In a strategic move to revitalise the agricultural sector and empower rural communities, the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf (AKY), has presented letters of employment to 1,038 newly recruited agricultural extension agents and support staff under the Kano State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA).
The appointments, according to the Governor, form part of his administration’s broader commitment to boosting food production, encouraging sustainable farming practices, and strengthening rural livelihoods.
> “In our bid to bolster agricultural productivity in Kano, I presented letters of employment to 1,038 young agricultural extension agents and support staff for KNARDA,” the Governor stated.
The new employees are expected to act as frontline ambassadors of agricultural transformation, engaging directly with farmers to facilitate modern and efficient farming methods. The Governor charged the recruits to carry out their duties with seriousness, dedication, and a deep sense of responsibility to the people of the state.
> “Their conduct and commitment will directly influence the success of our efforts to revitalise agriculture and empower rural communities,” he added.
Governor Yusuf also extended his appreciation to the State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, KNARDA, the Civil Service Commission, and other stakeholders who contributed to making this milestone a reality.
This bold step not only addresses unemployment among the youth but also strengthens the foundation for long-term agricultural development in Kano State.
