The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has announced that it will impose a six-month flight ban on renowned Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as Kwam 1, following an incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
According to Michael Achimugu, NCAA's Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, the disciplinary action stems from Kwam 1’s conduct at the domestic terminal involving ValueJet Airlines.
<span;>> </span;>“What I must assure the general public is that everybody involved in this will be brought to book,” Achimugu stated during a press briefing on Thursday.
He further emphasized that:
<span;>> </span;>“As we speak, the passenger is going to be blacklisted for the next six months flying in Nigeria.”
The authority reiterated that aviation safety and order are governed by global standards, and no individual is exempt, regardless of their public status.
<span;>> </span;>“Aviation rules are made for everybody, for the protection of everybody,” Achimugu added.
“There is nothing about the rules that is to antagonise any passenger. We will do everything we can to get to the root of it. Everybody who needs to be punished or sanctioned will receive justice.”
This move signals NCAA's renewed commitment to discipline, safety, and the rule of law across Nigerian airspaces.
