Fake Officer Arrested for Defrauding Suspect’s Family in Jos – OPSH Warns Public

Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) have apprehended a man identified as Mr. Musa Ali for impersonating a serving personnel of the security outfit with the intent to defraud the public.

According to a statement issued by Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, Media Information Officer of OPSH, the suspect posed as a member of the task force and deceitfully collected the sum of ₦400,000 from the family of a notorious gunrunner currently under investigation by the task force.

Mr. Ali allegedly promised the family he could halt the investigation and secure the suspect's release, a claim which was later discovered to be fraudulent by OPSH operatives, leading to his immediate arrest.

Operation SAFE HAVEN emphasized that it does not, under any circumstances, accept money or favors to influence investigations or release suspects. All investigative processes, the statement noted, are carried out professionally and within the framework of the law.

“The arrest of Mr. Musa Ali highlights OPSH’s unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and zero tolerance for corruption,” Major Zhakom stated.

Authorities have confirmed that the suspect will be prosecuted in accordance with the law upon the conclusion of investigations.
