In a decisive blow against insurgent activities, troops from Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) successfully neutralized dozens of terrorists loyal to the late Halilu Buzu and Alhaji Beti in a combined air and ground assault at the Makakkari general area of Gando Forest, Bukkuyum Local Government Area, on August 10, 2025.
This military action followed credible intelligence indicating a dangerous convergence of armed groups within the forest, poised to launch a reprisal attack targeting the farming communities of Adabka and Nasarawan Burkullu. The militants were reportedly preparing to avenge recent defeats suffered during clashes with security forces and hybrid units operating in the region.
Sources close to security operatives revealed that the terrorists were gathering to perpetrate what intelligence officers described as a "planned massacre" intended to sow fear and instability among the rural populace.
