Okpara Square was ablaze with vibrant color, boundless energy, and radiant joy this weekend as the Enugu Women’s Prayer Meeting and the August Meeting unfolded in a stirring display of faith, culture, and sisterhood. Women from across the state gathered in their multicolored best, their radiant smiles and spirited voices filling the air with warmth and collective anticipation.

The event kicked off with the Women’s Prayer Meeting, a heartfelt collaboration between the Office of the First Lady of Enugu State — Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah — and the Enugu Women’s Prayer Network. In a powerful opening, attendees offered prayers of gratitude for God’s abundant mercy and supplications for peace, development, and divine guidance for the state—especially His Excellency Governor Dr. Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah—along with all those in authority.

Evangelist Dr. Favour Ugwuanyi, the Coordinator of the Prayer Network, delivered an inspiring sermon titled “Women as Nation Builders.” Drawing on the legacies of biblical heroines like Deborah and Ruth, she reminded attendees of the formidable strength and leadership responsibilities borne by women. Dr. Ugwuanyi urged all to lead with resilience, determination, and unwavering spiritual grounding, inspiring loyalty and unity within their communities.

As the sermon concluded, the women staged a powerful prophetic march around Okpara Square—lifting voices in praise and declaring blessings upon their beloved state. The gathering transitioned seamlessly from spiritual reflection to festive camaraderie, with music, vibrant colors, and shared joy filling the afternoon.
