The Katsina State Government has reaffirmed its readiness to partner with the Northern Nigeria Development Company (NNDC) in driving large-scale economic growth through strategic investments across critical sectors.
The assurance came from Deputy Governor Mallam Faruq Lawal Jobe, who received NNDC Governing Board Chairman, Alhaji Lamis Shehu Dikko (Ajiyan Katsina), on behalf of Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, during a courtesy visit at the Government House.
Mallam Jobe expressed confidence in the transformative potential of the collaboration, highlighting Katsina’s progress in renewable energy.
“With NNDC’s support, Katsina State can do more economically. We have made significant strides in solar-powered energy and have approved an additional 10MW solar project,” he stated.
The Deputy Governor underscored the region’s vast agricultural potential and untapped mineral resources, urging NNDC to mobilise investors and provide platforms—through seminars and workshops—for idea-sharing and business development. He commended Alhaji Dikko’s presentation as “addressing core concerns and charting a path for economic revival in Northern Nigeria.”
In response, Alhaji Lamis Dikko described the visit as part of NNDC’s deliberate outreach to align with Katsina’s economic transformation agenda.
“NNDC stands ready to offer strategic investment opportunities that will revitalise Katsina’s economy and the Northwest through innovative ventures,” he affirmed.
He identified agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and energy as high-impact sectors capable of delivering job creation, industrial growth, and wealth generation.
Alhaji Dikko also praised Governor Radda’s landmark achievements, including the $500 million clean energy deal with UK-based Genesis Energy Holding, advancements in hydropower, and the establishment of the Katsina Directorate of ICT, which has already trained thousands of youths.
“We are fully committed to working with the Katsina State Government to deliver transformative, sustainable projects that will benefit not only the state but the entire northern region,” Dikko pledged.
The meeting was attended by key Katsina State officials and NNDC representatives, marking a renewed push for public–private partnerships to unlock the region’s economic potential.
