Nollywood Veteran Fabian Adibe Dies at 82

Nollywood has lost one of its most revered pioneers as veteran actor Fabian Adibe has passed away at the age of 82.

The news was confirmed early Wednesday by Seun Oloketuyi, CEO of Best of Nollywood (BON), who announced the actor’s death in a social media post.

“Things Fall Apart actor, Fabian Adibe, is dead. Died 2:30 am this morning,” Oloketuyi wrote.

Adibe, widely respected for his distinguished performances on screen, was best known for his role in the screen adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s literary classic Things Fall Apart. Over the decades, he featured in several acclaimed productions that helped shape the foundation of Nigeria’s film industry.

Tributes have since poured in from fans, colleagues, and the broader entertainment community, many describing him as a “true legend” whose contributions to Nollywood will never be forgotten.

As the industry mourns his passing, admirers remember Fabian Adibe not only for his artistry but also for his enduring influence on African cinema.
