Governor Agbu Kefas has handed over an ambulance bus to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Taraba State Command, aimed at strengthening emergency medical response on highways. The presentation took place at the office of the Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS), Chief Barr. GeeTee Kataps Ngwii, on Thursday, 21st August 2025.

The donation, performed on behalf of Governor Kefas, is part of the administration’s efforts to improve motorists’ welfare and reduce road accident fatalities. The SGS highlighted the state government’s commitment to ensuring timely medical intervention during road emergencies.

Governor Kefas stated:

“Road accidents remain a major cause of injury and death in our state. By equipping FRSC with modern ambulances, we are taking a critical step toward saving more lives.”

FRSC officials welcomed the gesture, noting that the new ambulance would enhance on-the-spot medical care and ensure speedy evacuation of accident victims.

The initiative forms part of Governor Kefas’s broader healthcare and public safety agenda, which includes investments in hospitals, training of first responders, and road safety awareness campaigns. Analysts note that improving emergency response infrastructure is critical to reducing road traffic fatalities, particularly in states with high highway accident rates.

By equipping FRSC with modern ambulances, Taraba State is positioning itself as a model for proactive road safety management, demonstrating the importance of government intervention in public health and emergency preparedness.

Governor Kefas’s donation of the ambulance bus underscores a commitment to saving lives and protecting citizens. Through such measures, the state government aims to reduce fatalities, improve emergency response, and build a safer environment for motorists, reflecting a proactive approach to public safety and healthcare infrastructure.
