The Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, Bala Usman, led a high-level engagement session with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction to assess the progress of the Ministry’s 2025 deliverables and indicators. The session, which included the Minister of State, Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, the Permanent Secretary, and heads of agencies and departments, focused on strengthening programme implementation under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
During the discussions, Bala Usman emphasised the importance of creating employment opportunities for underprivileged youths, expanding social protection programmes, and improving the reach of humanitarian interventions across Nigeria. She also raised concerns about operational and reporting gaps within the National Social Investment Programmes Agency, calling for improved transparency, stronger data systems, and enhanced coordination across programmes to ensure effective service delivery and accountability.
