
The Yobe State chapter of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA) has expressed profound gratitude to Governor Mai Mala Buni, CON, for approving a revised salary scale (CONMESS and CONHESS) for veterinary doctors in the state.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Dr. Bulama Maina Yaro, the NVMA described the approval as a landmark decision, reflecting Governor Buni’s commitment to workers’ welfare, fairness in the civil service, and sustainable socioeconomic development.
The Association highlighted that the revised salary structure will not only boost the morale of veterinary professionals but also strengthen livestock productivity, enhance food security, and contribute to the broader economic growth of Yobe State. “This commendable decision demonstrates the exemplary leadership, foresight, and dedication of His Excellency to the progress of our dear state,” the statement added.
The NVMA also prayed for Allah to grant Governor Buni continued wisdom, good health, and strength to sustain the delivery of people-oriented policies that uplift the lives of residents across Yobe State.
Experts note that improved remuneration for professionals in the veterinary sector can significantly impact public health, agricultural productivity, and food security, reinforcing the importance of strategic investment in skilled workforce development.
