Horrific Attack in Okpella: Eight NSCDC Officers Killed, Chinese National Abducted – Edo CP Pledges Justice

Okpella, Edo State – The Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Agbonika, fdc, has visited the scene of a deadly attack in Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area, where eight officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) lost their lives, and a Chinese national was abducted during the violent incident.

During his assessment, CP Agbonika expressed deep condolences to the Edo State NSCDC Command, describing the attack as shocking and reprehensible. He pledged that the police will work closely with other security agencies to ensure that those responsible are apprehended and brought to justice.

Addressing members of the Chinese community at BUA Cement, Okpella, the Commissioner confirmed that operational efforts are being intensified to rescue the abducted expatriate safely, while security deployments in the area have been strengthened to prevent further attacks.

CP Agbonika also urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security forces by providing accurate and timely information to assist ongoing investigations.

The Edo State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property, warning that all criminal elements threatening the peace of the state will face the full force of the law.
