
The Kano State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, has stepped in to resolve a dispute between Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) over electricity disconnection, citing its potential impact on critical medical services and public safety.
The intervention followed a meeting at the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Bompai Police Headquarters, Kano, which brought together the Chief Medical Director of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Prof. A. Abba Sheshe, and the Managing Director/CEO of KEDCO, Dr. Abubakar Shuaibu Jimeta. Discussions focused on finding an amicable solution to the crisis, which had reportedly disrupted essential hospital operations.
Following deliberations, KEDCO confirmed the immediate restoration of power supply to the hospital, ensuring that medical services continued without interruption. Both parties expressed appreciation to the Kano State Police Command for its timely and effective intervention.
The successful resolution underscores the Police Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property and maintaining the uninterrupted operation of critical institutions. The command also commended the cooperation of both parties and reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring peace and stability across the state.
