
In a bold move to reposition the education sector, Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has approved the release of about ₦1.2 billion for critical projects, reaffirming his administration’s strong commitment to quality education and youth development.
The disclosure was made by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Isah Tunga, at a press conference in Birnin Kebbi.
According to him, the approved projects include the construction of student hostels at the Kebbi State College of Health Science and Technology, Jega, and the payment of outstanding registration fees for Kebbi State students studying across the country for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Tunga described the intervention as a landmark step that reflects Governor Idris’ dedication to expanding access to quality education and strengthening the capacity of the state’s tertiary institutions to compete with their counterparts nationwide.
He further appealed to students and citizens of Kebbi State to support the administration with prayers and cooperation, assuring that the government remains focused on delivering good governance, with education as a top priority.
