The Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (GoHealth) has participated in a two-day intensive training on Ecosystem Enrolment, organised by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) in partnership with the Nigeria Digital Identification for Development (ID4D) project, a World Bank–supported initiative.
The training, held in Kano State, brought together technical teams from Front-End Enrolment Partners and Mobile Network Operators with the goal of strengthening Nigeria’s digital identity ecosystem through practical knowledge-sharing.
GoHealth was represented by a delegation led by the Director of ICT, Gidado Musa Biri, underscoring the agency’s commitment to adopting innovative digital tools to enhance healthcare service delivery.
A major highlight of the programme was the introduction of NIMC’s new Metadata platform, designed to improve efficiency, transparency, and security in the enrolment process. Participants engaged in practical sessions on advanced device management, improved access control, real-time notifications, strengthened agent management, and other innovations aimed at building a more reliable and secure digital identity system.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Biri said the training provides GoHealth with a stronger foundation for integrating digital identity into healthcare access. According to him, a secure and reliable identification system is the bedrock of effective healthcare delivery, and the knowledge gained will help support the enrolment of people in rural and underserved communities to ensure no one is left behind.
Organisers stressed that the improvements showcased during the training are vital for building a more inclusive and scalable national digital identity system to meet Nigeria’s growing population needs.
GoHealth reaffirmed its commitment to digital inclusion, noting that a strong identification system is central to achieving universal health coverage, as it enables better targeting and accessibility of healthcare services. It will be recalled that NIMC recently licensed GoHealth to operate as a service provider for the enrolment of Nigerians into the National Identification Number system, making it the first state health insurance agency in the country to achieve such recognition.
