Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has expressed his administration’s readiness to partner with Huawei Technology Company in key development areas, including security, solar power, and education.

The governor gave the assurance when he received a delegation from Huawei at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, noting that such collaboration would bring immense benefits to the state and its people.

“After scrutinising your proposal, we will decide on specific areas to partner with,” Governor Idris said, while stressing his government’s commitment to innovative solutions that will address security and educational needs, as well as expand access to clean energy.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation and Deputy Managing Director of Huawei Nigeria, Kayson Young, thanked the governor for welcoming the company to Kebbi State. He explained that Huawei has been in Nigeria for more than 36 years, working with federal and state governments, as well as agencies, to drive technology-driven development.

He added that the proposed partnership would support Kebbi in addressing pressing security challenges, including the installation of CCTV cameras in high-risk areas, while also promoting renewable energy and advancing digital education.
