Tragedy struck Kauran Fawa village in Giwa Local Government Area when bandits launched a deadly attack in the early hours of Wednesday. The assault claimed the life of one resident and left another seriously injured.
According to a local resident, Mohammed Sabiu, who reported the incident to SaharaReporters’ New York office, the attackers stormed the community in large numbers, heavily armed.
“They killed our brother, Sabiu Hamza, and badly injured Gambo Abdulkadir, who was rushed to the hospital,” Sabiu recounted.
Authorities in the area are yet to issue an official statement, while residents have expressed concerns over escalating insecurity in the region.
