The Zamfara State Police Command has issued a stern warning to its personnel, emphasizing that unprofessional conduct will not be tolerated. The Command also called on members of the public to report any misconduct by officers to their superiors or the State Police Headquarters.
Deputy Superintendent Yazid Abubakar, the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), made the statement in Maru Local Government Area during a stakeholders’ dialogue aimed at strengthening police-community relations and addressing conflict in the state.
Abubakar expressed concern over persistent unprofessional behavior by some officers, noting that such actions have negatively affected the image of the Nigerian Police Force. He urged residents to cooperate with police efforts to promote peace and security across Zamfara.
Musa Umar, Executive Director of the Voluntary Aid Initiative (VAI), highlighted that the dialogue session was designed to raise awareness on police-community engagement, resolve issues of harassment, bribery, and illegal checkpoints, and foster peacebuilding in the society.
