The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, represented by his Special Adviser on Innovation and Research, Mr. Lukman Lamid, has reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to driving sustainable technology solutions in Nigeria.

Speaking at the 3rd edition of the Technology Ecosystem Dialogue (TED 2025), organised by the Young Innovators of Nigeria (YIN) under the theme “Green Tech and Energy Revolution: Transforming Business and Society,” Inuwa noted that the discussions align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He stressed that economic diversification through industrialisation, digitisation, creative industries, manufacturing, and innovation remains a top priority for the administration.

The NITDA boss highlighted a series of interventions aimed at strengthening the technology ecosystem. These include the establishment of Technology and Innovation Hubs across the country and flagship programmes such as iHatch, the National Innovation Challenge, IgniteHer, We Elevate, and the Renewed Hope Innovation Nest.

Inuwa further cited NITDA’s partnerships that foster research and development in frontier technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, and Clean Energy, stressing that these efforts are designed to equip Nigeria for global competitiveness in the emerging digital and green economy.
