Nigeria has congratulated the Government and people of the People’s Republic of China on the occasion of their National Day, highlighting the strong diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations. The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, conveyed warm greetings to His Excellency Wang Yi, China’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, in a statement released on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
The statement emphasized China’s journey of nation-building, resilience, and innovation, noting its global influence and inspiration. It underscored the value Nigeria places on its relationship with China, characterized by mutual trust, shared aspirations, and extensive cooperation in economic, political, and cultural spheres.
Ambassador Tuggar reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with China, particularly in trade, infrastructure, investment, education, and technology. He highlighted collaboration through bilateral and multilateral platforms, including the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
The statement also recognized China’s role in promoting peace, multilateral dialogue, and global development. Nigeria expressed readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations, explore new avenues of partnership, and enhance people-to-people ties for mutual benefit.
Ambassador Tuggar concluded by wishing the Government and people of China continued peace, prosperity, and the strengthening of ties with Nigeria.
