The Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has been nationally recognised for his pioneering leadership and innovative approach to governance, receiving the 2025 Presidential GOVTECH Award at a ceremony held at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The award, presented by the Presidency through the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), honours leaders who have leveraged technology to enhance public service delivery, transparency, and accountability. Governor Fintiri’s administration was singled out for its forward-thinking initiatives in digital governance, e-governance reforms, education technology, and civil service modernization, which have collectively transformed Adamawa State’s public institutions and citizen engagement.
Receiving the award on behalf of her husband, Her Excellency Hajiya Dr. Lami Ahmadu Fintiri highlighted that the recognition belongs to the people of Adamawa State, reflecting their support and belief in good governance. She noted that the award also names Governor Fintiri Best Governor, North-East, emphasizing that it represents both a national acknowledgment of strategic leadership and a celebration of impactful reforms.
Her Excellency underscored the state’s achievements in leveraging digital tools to improve efficiency, foster inclusiveness, and strengthen trust in governance. She reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to sustaining innovation-driven policies, enhancing transparency, and delivering quality public services to citizens.
“This well-deserved honour is a testament to Governor Fintiri’s visionary leadership and dedication to public service, positioning Adamawa State as a model of progress and technological advancement in Nigeria,” she said, adding that the recognition serves as inspiration to continue building a smarter, more inclusive, and digitally empowered state.
The Presidential GOVTECH Award 2025 adds to Governor Fintiri’s growing list of accolades, reinforcing his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most reform-oriented and forward-thinking leaders. Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Fintiri expressed gratitude to the Presidency and BPSR for acknowledging the administration’s efforts and pledged to sustain the momentum toward a more accountable, efficient, and digitally-driven Adamawa State.
