The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation has reinforced its dedication to citizen-focused public service with the inauguration of the Ministerial SERVICOM Committee (MSC) during the 2025 SERVICOM Customer Service Week at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.
Representing the Honourable Minister, Permanent Secretary Ogbodo Chinasa Nnam described the occasion as a reaffirmation of the Ministry’s commitment to excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement across all its departments and agencies. Speaking on the theme, “Mission Possible,” he emphasized that public servants can overcome challenges through integrity, teamwork, and determination, adding that citizens deserve quality service and respect in every interaction with government institutions.
Mrs. Amta Ode, the Ministry’s SERVICOM Nodal Officer, welcomed participants and commended the Honourable Minister for his steadfast support, noting that the celebration provided an avenue to reflect on achievements, celebrate milestones, and strengthen the Ministry’s resolve to deliver effective public service.
The representative of the National SERVICOM Coordinator, Mr. Onche Olotu, urged the newly inaugurated committee members to act as the “eyes and conscience” of SERVICOM within the Ministry, ensuring that empathy, responsiveness, and integrity guide all engagements with citizens. He stressed that effective service delivery must come from sincerity and a genuine desire to serve, rather than mere lip service.
The event also recognized staff members who exhibited outstanding commitment to quality service, highlighting the Ministry’s focus on rewarding excellence. Directors, SERVICOM Nodal Officers from affiliated agencies, and other stakeholders were present, collectively pledging to advance transparency, accountability, and citizen-centered governance.
The inauguration of the MSC during SERVICOM Week demonstrates the Ministry’s strategic effort to institutionalize a culture of excellence, responsiveness, and ethical service delivery, reinforcing Nigeria’s drive toward a more efficient and citizen-focused public sector.
