Interior Minister Appoints Omogunwa Olakunle as Special Assistant

The Minister of Interior, Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has announced the appointment of Mr. Omogunwa Olakunle Olufemi as his Special Assistant, marking another step in the minister’s effort to strengthen his administrative team.

The appointment was made public through a statement issued by the Minister’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Babatunde Alao, on Tuesday in Abuja.

According to the statement, Mr. Omogunwa brings extensive experience in management and public relations, having previously served as Assistant Branch Manager at Geminus Hotel in Akure, where he played a key role in integrating new market staff, overseeing sales operations, and conducting market surveys to improve service efficiency.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo expressed confidence in Mr. Omogunwa’s capacity to deliver on his new assignment, emphasizing that his professional expertise and administrative background will contribute meaningfully to the ministry’s strategic goals.

“I am confident that his skills and expertise will be invaluable in supporting my office and driving initiatives that benefit our community,” the Minister said.

Mr. Omogunwa, a graduate of Political Science from the University of Ado-Ekiti, officially assumes his new duties with immediate effect and is expected to report directly to the Minister.

The appointment underscores Dr. Tunji-Ojo’s ongoing commitment to building a competent and dynamic team that can support the Ministry of Interior’s reform agenda and enhance service delivery across all departments under his supervision.
