The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has reiterated the importance of strategic partnerships in driving growth, sustainability, and commercialisation within the country’s downstream petroleum sector. This was emphasised by the Group CEO, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, through a statement delivered by the Executive Vice President for Downstream, Mr. Mumuni Dagazau, during the 2025 Inaugural Annual Downstream Petroleum Week held on Tuesday.
Addressing stakeholders at the event organised by the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), Ojulari described the Nigerian downstream landscape as one experiencing transition and presenting both challenges and opportunities. He stressed that collaboration between all sector players is essential to meeting Africa’s rising energy demand, positioning Nigeria as a leading hub for sustainable energy development.
He further underscored NNPC Ltd.’s commitment to ensuring reliable fuel supply, competitive pricing, and uncompromising quality across all retail networks nationwide. Ojulari highlighted the role of supply partnerships, infrastructure co-investments, security collaborations, and engagement with host communities as critical to building a sustainable future for the sector.
The forum, themed “Celebrating Our Successes, Confronting Our Challenges, and Finding Solutions for the Petroleum Downstream Sector,” brought together legislators and key stakeholders from the downstream industry to discuss strategies for sector-wide growth. Ojulari also commended the National Assembly and the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) for providing a platform for engagement and policy dialogue.
